UPDATED: Rule number 5 has been changed, please see below for details
Theme: The 90s
You must draw a scene from your favorite videogame from the 90s. Your game must have come out sometime after January 1st, 1990 and before December 31st, 1999.
That means anything from late NES games to the very early Dreamcast games. This was a period where many popular series were at their very best. But you can also draw games that were less popular! As long as it came out in the 90s, it's eligible, no matter what company made it!
YES! EVEN PHILLIPS.
By the way, if it came out in the late 90s in Japan, but later in the west, you can still enter it in the contest.
If you're not sure when your game was released, do your research first!
GRAND PRIZE
The winner will receive a free 1 year subscription paid from my own paypal account. As soon as the winner will be declared, I will activate the subscription myself.
It is possible that I will add runner up prizes, but I can't promise anything for now.
Also, you can not trade your prize for cash.
Rules
1. UPDATED
The deadline is now May 8.
2.You must have drawn it yourself! Obviously, you must not submit something you traced or edited from sombody else's work.
3. I want new artwork to be produced for this contest. Therefore, your artwork must have been completed between the date of this journal (February the 28th) and the deadline (May 8). (It's ok if it was STARTED before Feb.28th, you just have to COMPLETE it between feb 28th and May 8). Please send me a note with the link to your deviation. If you post it on my journal, I might miss it, so don't blame me if that happens.
You are allowed to submit ONE deviation for the contest. However, if you make a better one before the deadline, I can remove your first entry and replace it with the new one.
4. No cross-overs unless the game you are drawing was a cross-over to begin with. For example, the original Smash Brothers (1999).
5. UPDATED
It has come to my attention that nearly everyone would prefer the contest to be judged by someone outside of it, rather than having deviants vote for their favorite entries.
Therefore, I have assigned 3 judges to the contest. These people don't have accounts on Deviantart, so they don't know any of the people who will enter. This will prevent situations like, for example, a popular deviant asking all his friends to vote for his entry.
The deviations will be given a certain amount of points by each judge and the winning deviation will be the one to receive the highest score.
6. I personally don't mind violence and sexual content. However, make sure that your entry does not violate the rules of DeviantArt, because if it is removed, it will be disqualified from the contest.
Make sure to tell all your friends!
See you on May 8!
ENTRIES
Why? I have no idea! But I'm very thankful!
Thanks a lot! Now, I can display the thumbnails of the entries in my journal
