I just started playing this game on the NES emulator last week. It's really great; it's a shame it was never as popular as Mario, Metroid or Zelda. The controls are done just right: very responsive, and the jump physics aren't too floaty. The level of challenge is perfect as well: not too easy, and a constant onslaught of ennemies keeps you on your toes and prevents the game from ever being boring. The password system makes the semi-high difficulty well balanced since you can start over at the beginning of the level in which you died.
Also, the music is really catchy, and the game looks great; except maybe the blue of the sky in level 2 which is a bit saturated (but you get used to it).
I recommend this game to fans of platformers and side scrolling shooters with a well balanced level of challenge. The action is really relentless in this game which is why it's so good in my opinion. So if you like that kind of stuff you should definitely play it. Hopefully a sequel or remake will be made on the Wii some time in the near future.
uah! this ahs to be one of the best you've ever made in my opinion. god i love some good old classic monsters even though i'm watching you i just have to fav it.

Kid Icarus is my favorite NES game in the world. I first played it when I was 6 and I loved it! Even though I never beat it till a few years later, lol. The gameboyd sequel was rather lame though...so I hope as Nintendo works on the new Kid Icarus for Wii they will try and keep it somewhat like the original. This will be the first 3D game for Pit, so I'm hoping they go into a Zelda/Metroid way with it..because what was neat about it was how it doubled as an adventure AND platformer game...sort of like Metroid, but it was a lot more fun.
Anyway, I've rambled on long enough. This picture is great and does Pit amazing justice. He's definately in my top 5 Nintendo favorite Nintendo characters. I always loved Palutena/Pit too...have you seen the secret ending?

I downloaded it myself at my brother's urging some time before Brawl and I have to agree, the game is fantastic. Don't get me wrong, it completely owns me and I get if I'm lucky through a few levels, but those few levels are actually challenging as opposed to most newer games.

Hopefully there will be a sequel soon (Pit's appearance in Brawl probably sparked a lot of interest, and he's definately been favorably recieved from what I've heard). It may get Nintendo to finally make a new one. It's sad though that the series had so much potential to grow (as much as Mario, Zelda and Metroid in my opinion), yet sadly Kid Icarus got lost. Anyways, nice picture.

Wow, seriously awesome detail and feeling in this, I really love how you draw so much! You always manage to put such emotion and detail into the characters you draw...even a lot of the artists here on DA that people spazz over and everyone knows fail at this quite a bit. Excellent work, as always!
