This game came out on the N64 around the same time as the original Smash Bros. My birthday was coming soon, and naturally I had been asking for Smash Bros for months (even though I had already rented it and played it for long periods of time).
But then 2 weeks before my birthday, I saw the review for this game in a magazine: it had near perfect scores in every category, so I told my parents I didn't want Smash Bros anymore, I wanted this game. But, it turns out they had already bought smash bros... so I ended up getting both games
This is one of Rare's best games (from back when Rare was still making awesome games), probably the best action game I have ever played... It's kinda like Halo, but way more awesome. Its a must have for the Nintendo 64.
I remember this game. I rented it a couple of times back in the day. The gameplay, graphics, etc. were all awesome, but the plot just didn't draw me in I am very story-driven, so since I didn't feel the need to find out what happened with Juno, Vela, and their dog, I never purchased the game I do agree that it was one of Rare's best. They really knew how to get the most out of a system!

I can't really say that I ever had a 64 or wanted one, if I did have to have one though, it would definitely be for Smash Bros, Goldeneye or Perfect Dark... This picture looks great though
Though PD and Goldeneye are awesome, I would have to say that in my opinion this one is better. I think it's because it's more over the top, cartoony and stylish. Last week I realized I hadnt played the N64 classics in years, so I downloaded them and ordered an adapter to allow me to use a nintendo controller in my PC
Wow! I never played this game. But is probably because I never got interested in that kind of games, it looked like another shooter to me, with a futuristic theme, nothing new...
Well, so... is it really that good, then? OK, I'll see if at least I can find a rom of it.
By the way - back when Rare was still making awesome games? I know that Star Fox Adventures was not that good (thought I like it), but... I haven't played any of the Xbox and Xbox-360 games (except for the remake of Conker's Bad Fur Day, and both the graphics and multiplayer mode got really improved), so are they not so good? I am really looking forward to Banjo-Threeie's launch, I would even buy a 360 just for that game.
...Rare should just go back to do games for Nintendo bigger consoles. They are missing the opportunity of doing a game for a unique console such as Wii, with it's Wiimote and all.
I guess I just got kinda pissed because perfect dark zero kinda sucked... you probably shouldn't take it very seriously
Anyway, this game is really awesome. On the N64, its right up there with Zelda and Goldeneye (in fact I like it more than goldeneye for the single player, though the multi sucks). The levels are colorful and the music really sets the mood just right. The story isn't anything special though, but same is true for Super Metroid...
However, this is one of those games that just wont work yet with a keyboard. I tried some configurations but I couldnt find one that worked well... so I ordered a USB adapter to use the GC controller on my PC

this was a great game except for the "collect the ewoks" part. But personally i think the character design in this game was pretty ugly, that's probably the reason why there's so little jet force gemini fan art. great picture though, you made them look like humans

Rare made wonders on the N64... Especially with this and Conker. And without even using the Ram pack!
